NextPlay Directors Shane Froling and Mick Downer recently delivered the Annual “Development Basketball League All Star Camp” (DBL) on behalf of the World Basketball Academy (WBA) and the DBL.

NextPlay Director Shane Froling (2nd from Left) successfully coached and developed some of QLD’s best athletes. NBA player Cameron Bairstow (Chicago Bulls), and NBL players Mitch Young (Cairns Taipans), Todd Blanchfield (Townsville Crocs), Brock Motum (Adelaide 36ers) and Matt Hodgson (Melbourne United) to name a few.
BASKETBALL - A WORLD GAME
Home of the "Unics Kazan", a 7000 seat stadium which played host to the 2013 World Universiade Games. Australia won a Silver Medal at the event, the first Men's medal at a World University Games. Nextplay Network Consultant Mick Downer was the teams assistant coach.

NextPlay Directors Shane Froling and Mick Downer recently delivered the Annual “Development Basketball League All Star Camp” (DBL) on behalf of the World Basketball Academy (WBA) and the DBL.
Based at the 4000 seat DBL arena in Surabaya, Indonesia Shane and Mick along with the WBA staff Andrew Vlahov, Jason Cuperus and Lauren Jeffers put over 200 athletes and 60 coaches from all around Indonesia through their paces.
The selection camp is a celebration of the All Star players and coaches selected from all around the country with a Head and Assistant Coach, and 12 athletes being selected for an all expenses paid trip the United States.
With the help of local professional players, coaches and the DBL technical staff the NextPlay and WBA coaches conduct physiological and psychological testing along with intensive on court sessions over 5 days.
The camp starts with over 100 male and female high school age athletes with the squad being reduced during the duration of camp to 50 of each, then 24 then finally the All Star team of 12.
All players are provided with individual skill development along with team concepts and style of play instruction of a gruelling 5 days.
